It may have taken 21 days but Connecticut had its first reported UFO sighting in 2017, according to the National UFO Reporting Center. This comes on the heels of nearly 75 reported sightings in 2016, that stretched all across the state.
If you picked Guilford, Conn. to be first in your 2017 UFO sighting pool than you won. The first reported sighting of 2017 occurred on Jan. 21 in Guilford at 2 a.m.
According to whoever made the reported sighting they said, “There are round shapes burned into the grass in a field near my house. They are visible from google earth and show up in every secluded field in town. There are hundreds of them. I would be happy to show you and send some pictures I have taken. 2 years ago I saw what looked like a gray saucer leaving from this area. Happy hunting.”
The National UFO Reporting Center notes that the individual who posted the report did include aerial photos but did indicate “modest circular marks, but they don’t appear to us to be authentic crop formations.”
We’ll see which Connecticut town is second in 2017. In December 2016 there were 10 UFO sightings alone in Connecticut so in that regard we need to catch up quickly. There were about 75 reported sightings in 2016 in Connecticut.
Other sightings reported in December 2016 were from residents in Jewett City, Manchester, Waterbury, Milford, Stratford, Middlefield, Clinton, Plainville, Cromwell and Niantic.
Other Connecticut communities that reported sightings in 2016 include: Greenwich, Bristol, Middletown, Broad Brook, Torrington, New Britain, Naugatuck, Bridgeport, Old Lyme, Wethersfield, New Milford, New Britain and Ansonia.
Other communities include: East Windsor, Quaker Hill, Suffield, Wolcott, Stamford, Hamden, North Haven, Fairfield, Canton, Glastonbury, South Windsor, West Suffield, Norwich, Vernon, Ellington and Southington.
A lot of the reported sightings are typical and describe some object was flashing in the sky, while some offer detailed accounts including parts of whole days while witnessing the mysterious UFO-type object.
In December 2016 a Milford resident said they observed five spacecrafts and wrote, “I felt waves of gratitude from every ship and it was over. STRANGENESS When I realized I was getting cold, I also realized something else. It was approximately 11 hours later and the Sun was out.”
And in case you’re wondering what the National UFO Reporting Center is, it’s been around since 1974 and it investigates UFO sightings and has put together a list of more than 90,000 sightings around the world.
